Inspired by over a decade of performing around the globe with Yo-Yo Ma and the Silk Road Ensemble, as well as with frame drum master Glen Velez, Shane Shanahan’s debut album takes you on a rhythmic journey of discovery across cultures. Using an exotic collection of drums from Africa, India, the Middle East, Indonesia, Latin America, and the US, the music evokes nine diverse landscapes. The melodic layering of bamboo flutes, thumb pianos, vibraphone, hang drum and throat singing will transport you deeper into the heart of each musical destination. Visit the iTunes store to check it out! Hard copies of the CD will be available in mid-December.
